Design Palette
Panel molding walls and full mirror in a charcoal basement gym setup
About This Design
We committed to a full dark palette, using near-black charcoal on every wall with applied panel molding to add architectural texture without softening the mood. The dark hardwood floor, black ceiling fan, and matte black equipment create a unified environment where every surface reinforces focused intensity.
Design Tip
In a basement gym, the absence of natural light becomes an asset when you lean into it. Dark walls absorb distractions, directional spotlights isolate the equipment zone, and a full mirror doubles the perceived depth. The result is a space that feels intentional rather than dim.

Spatial Approach
The treadmill anchors the center wall backed by a full floor-to-ceiling mirror, creating a strong axis from the entry. The weight plate rack on the right wall keeps heavy equipment close to the mirror for form checks, and cardio machines sit on the left wall for a circuit flow.
Best For
A dedicated training space for daily workouts. The full equipment lineup, plate rack, and mirror placement make this equally functional for cardio sessions, strength training, and row intervals in a finished basement.
