About This Design
We anchored the gym zone with a floor-to-ceiling dark walnut slatted wall that doubles as a dramatic backdrop for the stationary bike and treadmill. On the living side, a cream sofa and light oak coffee table keep the palette crisp and airy.
Design Tip
A dark feature wall does two things in a combined gym and living space: it gives the equipment a defined visual boundary so the gym zone does not bleed into the lounging area, and it adds depth to a room that might otherwise feel flat.

Spatial Approach
The walnut slat wall runs the full width of the gym zone floor to ceiling, creating a strong back wall for the equipment. The living zone sits perpendicular, separated by a subtle shift in rug placement rather than a physical divider.
Best For
This layout suits homeowners who want a functional gym space that looks as curated as the rest of the home. The dual-zone setup means the room pulls double duty for daily workouts and evening relaxation.
