About This Design

We pulled the staircase into the spotlight by floating it above oak herringbone and pairing it with a marble pedestal sculpture. The geometric pendant signals modern, while wainscoting and the dark green panel door anchor the room in classical proportions, letting the curve of the stair read as a sculptural moment.
Design Tip
Use one sculptural element at the base of a curved stair to break the visual rhythm of the rise. The marble pedestal here pulls the eye away from stair repetition and gives the foyer a focal point that does not compete with the architecture.
