Floor-to-ceiling wood slats create a private dining cocoon. Live-edge table, glass pendants.
Design Palette
Continuous wood slats from floor to ceiling create an immersive.
About This Design
We wrapped this private dining room entirely in natural wood slats, creating a cocoon that envelops guests the moment they step inside. The continuous slat treatment from walls to ceiling eliminates hard corners and produces a warm, tunnel-like embrace. A live-edge dining table runs the length of the room, celebrating the same raw wood character, while amber glass pendants cast a honeyed glow that softens every surface.
Design Tip
Vary the slat depth slightly between wall and ceiling sections to create subtle shadow differences that prevent the surface from reading as monotonous. A depth variation of just half an inch produces enough relief to catch light at different angles. Finish all slats with the same clear sealant so the wood grain remains the star.

Spatial Approach
Floor-to-ceiling wood slats wrap three sides of the room, creating a cocoon that funnels attention toward the live-edge communal table at center. The open shelving unit on the back wall provides the only visual break in the wood envelope, and clustered glass pendants hang at staggered heights directly over the table to reinforce its role as the single gathering point.
Best For
Private dining rooms within larger restaurants, or tasting-menu concepts where the meal is a shared event. Seats 10 to 12 comfortably and works for wine dinners, corporate meals, or family celebrations that need an enclosed feeling.
