Design Palette
Stone arched alcoves with built-in cactus gardens bring the desert.
About This Design
We drew directly from the surrounding landscape to create a restaurant that feels carved from the desert itself. Natural stone arches frame living cactus gardens that blur the line between interior and exterior. Golden woven pendants and a wood slat ceiling introduce handcrafted warmth overhead, while concrete tables and earth-tone upholstery keep the material palette honest and grounded.
Design Tip
Select drought-tolerant species like columnar cacti and agave for built-in garden alcoves so they thrive with minimal watering. Use gravel beds with hidden drainage to prevent moisture damage to surrounding stone. This creates a living display that practically maintains itself between weekly check-ins.

Spatial Approach
Stone arch alcoves along the back wall contain cactus gardens that serve as natural room dividers between banquette sections, giving each group a semi-private pocket. A long cushioned bench runs the right side with sculptural objects at intervals, while freestanding tables in the center and a high-top bar along the left window offer three distinct seating types across one open floor.
Best For
Resort restaurants, rooftop terraces, or destination dining spots in warm climates. The mix of bar seating, banquettes, and freestanding tables suits venues that serve brunch crowds, afternoon drinks, and dinner service all in one space.
