About This Design

Coastal Contemporary

We designed this open-plan restaurant to blur the line between indoors and outdoors using double-height windows and natural materials. The exposed stone wall grounds the space while oversized woven pendants add texture overhead. Green leather seating and potted palms bring the surrounding landscape inside, creating a dining experience that feels like an extension of the natural setting.

Design Tip

Use oversized woven pendants to fill vertical space in double-height restaurants without blocking sightlines. Place lounge seating near windows to create a casual transition zone between bar and dining. Keep flooring light to reflect natural light deeper into the room.

Spatial Approach

The floor plan splits into three distinct zones: a green sectional lounge on the left for waiting, a high-top bar counter on the right for quick meals, and full-height windows at the back pulling natural light through the entire depth. Oversized woven globe pendants cluster over the bar area, marking it as the social anchor of the space.

Best For

Coastal or resort-adjacent restaurants that serve both casual drop-ins and longer sit-down meals. The multi-zone layout suits operators who need to handle varying group sizes and dwell times throughout the day.
