About This Design

We anchored this open-plan nook with a continuous oak slat half-wall that draws the eye across the room. Two slate-gray lounge chairs sit low and wide, balanced by a drum oak side table. The yellow abstract canvas punches above the wainscoting, giving the neutral palette a graphic focal point.
Design Tip
Run slat wainscoting at chair-rail height across an open corridor wall to define a seating zone without closing off the floor plan. It signals destination without a door.
