About This Design
Organic Modern
We built this walk-in around a structural oak column that divides the space into mirror-image hanging zones. Every surface is clad in the same pale straight-grain oak. Matte black rails, a gray loop carpet, and recessed lights keep the focus on the wood.
Design Tip
Use a structural column as a design asset rather than hiding it. Clad it in the same wood as the cabinetry and let it divide hanging zones symmetrically.

The column sits at center depth, creating two alcoves that each hold a double-hang bay. The open aisle on each side allows comfortable access. Drawer storage runs low below the hanging section.
Best For
Primary walk-in for a couple sharing one closet. The column naturally assigns a zone per person without a physical wall. Each side holds hanging, folded, and shelf storage independently.
