Rattan basket pendants hung at varying heights create a woven canopy.

About This Design

Coastal Modern

We layered natural rattan pendants at staggered heights to create a canopy effect that draws the eye upward while keeping the cafe feeling open. The mint green seating pops against neutral gray wainscoting, and trailing plants along the back wall bring organic warmth without cluttering table space.

Design Tip

Hang oversized woven pendants at three different heights to add depth and visual rhythm. Keep the color palette to two accent tones so the textures do the talking. This approach works well in cafes with high ceilings.

Spatial Approach

Rattan basket pendants hang in a loose cluster pattern across the ceiling, their varying sizes creating visual texture overhead while round ceiling cutouts add playful geometry. The layout separates low two-top tables on the left from a high-top communal bar on the right, giving solo visitors and small groups distinct zones within one room.

Best For

Boba tea shops, juice bars, or light-menu cafes targeting a younger demographic that lingers for photos and laptop work. The bright, airy palette appeals to college-area or shopping-district locations.
