Thirteen studio concepts built around bold abstract paintings on a limited budget. Neutral oak, cream, and marble backdrops let the artwork lead.
Design Palette
Full-height marble slab backsplash anchors the compact kitchenette with material richness on a budget.
About This Design
We treated each concept as a canvas for the client bold abstract paintings, keeping walls, upholstery, and cabinetry in warm neutrals so the artwork reads as the primary color. We pulled natural materials like oak veneer, marble slab, concrete texture, and linen to add depth without competing with the paintings.
Design Tip
Choose one high-impact material like a full-height marble slab for a single wall, then keep every other surface neutral. This delivers a focal point without the cost of surfacing an entire room.

Spatial Approach
We zoned each studio concept using rugs, low-profile shelving units, and furniture placement rather than walls. Living, dining, and kitchen areas overlap visually but read as distinct through pendant placement and rug boundaries.
