About This Design
Warm Scandinavian
We designed this space around the tension between warmth and restraint that defines Scandinavian interiors. The walnut slatted stair tower anchors the room with natural texture, while the white built-in shelving and gas fireplace keep the atmosphere light and airy.
Design Tip
Using a slatted wood partition instead of a solid wall lets light flow through while still defining zones. Space the slats 2 to 3 inches apart so the effect reads as texture from a distance but stays open up close.
