Three-zone apartment unified by charcoal paneling, brass accents, and walnut throughout.
Design Palette
Charcoal paneled walls and brass accents carried across all three zones.
About This Design
We built this apartment around a single material story: charcoal on the walls, brass at every light fixture and frame, warm walnut on every wood surface. That thread carries from the paneled bedroom to the botanical-wallpaper bathroom to the formal dining room, making three distinct zones read as one considered whole.
Design Tip
When working with dark walls across multiple rooms, keep upholstery and trim consistently light. The contrast between charcoal panels and cream fabrics prevents rooms from feeling heavy, and repeating the same brass tone in every fixture ties each zone to one cohesive palette.

Spatial Approach
The bedroom sits at the private core with a slat-wall sitting nook bridging sleep and reading zones. The bathroom opens off the bedroom with botanical wallpaper that echoes the dark tone. The dining room anchors the social end, using the same paneling language but scaled up for entertaining.
Best For
Ideal for professionals or couples who want a full apartment that feels intentional from bedroom to bath to dining room. This approach works especially well in smaller apartments where visual consistency makes the space feel larger and more purposeful than room-by-room design.
