Wooden treehouse structure and jungle mural transform dining into imaginative safari adventure

About This Design

Safari Treehouse

We built a full-scale wooden treehouse structure inside this activity room, complete with a jungle mural featuring palm trees and safari animals. The long dining table surrounded by child-sized wooden chairs creates a communal gathering spot, while the A-frame treehouse offers climbing and imaginative play. Natural wood tones and green accents bring the outdoors inside.

Design Tip

Build a wooden treehouse structure indoors as a permanent play feature that doubles as climbing equipment and imaginative space. The A-frame design is structurally stable while creating cozy nooks underneath for reading or hiding.

Spatial Approach

The room is organized into distinct activity zones: a wooden A-frame reading nook with built-in bench on the left, a large communal craft table at center with child-sized chairs in mixed pastel colors, and a miniature playhouse against the safari mural wall. Low open cubbies run the entire right wall for toy access at toddler height, and a slatted wood ceiling feature overhead ties the treehouse theme together.

Best For

Designed for families with multiple young children or a home daycare setting where group activities like crafts, meals, and pretend play all need dedicated areas in one room.
