About This Design

Modern Transitional

We designed this entire home around a cohesive sage-and-navy palette that threads through every room. The living room uses navy shiplap with brass accents, the bedrooms feature sage board-and-batten and grid panel walls, the kitchen ties in with olive shaker cabinets, and the basement mudroom-gym carries the sage tone into a hardworking space.

Design Tip

Choose two accent colors from the same green family, here sage and olive, and pair them with one bold dark, here navy. Use the greens for enclosed rooms like bedrooms and kitchens, and the dark for gathering rooms like the living area, so each space has its own mood while sharing a family of tones.

Spatial Approach

We anchored each room with a different wall treatment, shiplap in the living room, board-and-batten in the primary bedroom, grid panels in the second bedroom, and shaker cabinets in the kitchen, so the home has variety without losing its through-line of sage, navy, and oak.
