About This Design
Our client came to us during the planning phase of their new build. We designed the kitchen, bathrooms, walk-in closets, and staircase, then selected every material: oak ceiling beams, marble tiles, brass fixtures, black cabinetry finishes, and wood flooring. The builder received a complete design package with all specifications before breaking ground. This pre-construction approach gave our client a clear vision of the finished home and helped reduce costs by eliminating mid-build design changes and material swaps.
Design Tip
Pick three materials that recur in every room. Here, oak wood, black paint, and brass hardware connect kitchen, bathrooms, closets, and staircase without matching exactly. Repetition builds cohesion; variation prevents monotony.

Spatial Approach
The open plan ground floor flows from a foyer with floating staircase through a beam-ceiling kitchen to a living area with large windows. Bathrooms feature freestanding soaking tubs with marble walls and wood vanities. Walk-in closets use floor-to-ceiling built-in systems with open cubbies and closed cabinets.
Best For
Families building or renovating a 3,000+ sq ft home who want farmhouse warmth with clean modern lines. The exposed beam construction works best in new builds or homes with sufficient ceiling height for retrofit.
