About This Design

Japandi Minimal

This japandi minimal design features full-width hanging rails above a flush grain-matched oak drawer bank. The palette draws from Blonde Oak, Warm Ivory, Amber Cove and Neutral Taupe tones, creating a cohesive visual story throughout the space. Designed as a open walk-in wardrobe, every element works together to balance aesthetics with everyday function.

Design Tip

Add a 20 cm valance at the top of the hanging rail section to conceal the rod hardware and create a clean flush ceiling line that makes the open wardrobe read as built-in furniture.

Spatial Approach

The layout is divided into two symmetrical hanging bays separated by a central panel. Each bay has a single full-width hanging rod at a height suited to shirts and trousers rather than long gowns. The floor is taken up entirely by a continuous flush drawer bank, with grain-matched oak fronts and no visible hardware. A single open shelf runs the full width at the top, capped by an LED cove that bounces light off the ceiling to eliminate hard shadows across the hanging clothes.

Best For

Designed for a tidy daily-use wardrobe where both hanging zones and folded storage are equally accessible without reaching over obstructions. The absence of doors and the open LED-lit ceiling shelf create a room-like feel rather than a storage cabinet feel. The hat box shelf keeps seasonal items off the floor while remaining easily grabbable.
