About This Design
Modern Contemporary
We built this suite around a single commanding piece of abstract ink art, letting its dark marks set the palette for the charcoal bedding, dark nightstands, and black floor lamp. Warm oak wall paneling and a linen bed frame keep the room from tipping cold, while a rounded ivory armchair carves out a reading nook.
Design Tip
Choose one large-scale piece of art and let it dictate your secondary palette. Pull one tone from the artwork into your bedding, one into your furniture, and one into your wall treatment for a room that reads as composed rather than decorated.

We centered the platform bed on the white wall to maximize the art display above it, then positioned the armchair nook in the corner where oak paneling meets natural light. This separates the sleeping zone from a distinct sitting zone without a divider.
