About This Design

Transitional Japandi

We paired a ribbed oak floating vanity with white herringbone tile to layer two distinct textures within a restrained palette. The arched iron-frame mirror introduces a soft architectural curve that offsets the strict grid of the tile pattern. Black cylindrical sconces and bar pulls tie every element together with a precise, unfussy hardware language.

Design Tip

When using an all-white tile, vary the laying pattern instead of adding color. Herringbone creates directional movement that makes a small bathroom feel dynamic. Pair it with one warm wood tone and consistent matte black hardware to anchor the palette without introducing a third color.

Spatial Approach

The vanity runs the full width of the tile wall, keeping storage substantial without crowding the room. Centering the arched mirror directly above the sink creates a single focal axis, and placing both sconces at identical heights on either side reinforces the symmetry. The wall-hung toilet to the left maintains an open, uncluttered floor plane.

Best For

Designed for a primary bathroom remodel where the goal is high-impact texture with a minimal material count. Targets searches for herringbone tile bathroom ideas, oak floating vanity design, and arched mirror bathroom styling for clients pursuing online interior design.
