Bathroom Design Ideas
Bathrooms are the most material-intensive room in the house. Tile, stone, fixtures, and hardware all need to coordinate while surviving daily moisture. These projects show how material pairings create different results.
Browse primary bathrooms with walk-in showers, compact powder rooms with statement vanities, and shared family bathrooms with double sinks. Each project includes a floor plan and material specification sheet.

Bathroom Design Tips
Use Large-Format Tile in Small Baths
Fewer grout lines make a small bathroom feel larger. A 24x24 or 12x24 tile on floors and walls reduces visual clutter. We render both options so you can compare the effect before buying.
Match Fixture Finishes Throughout
Faucet, showerhead, towel bar, and toilet paper holder should share the same finish (brushed nickel, matte black, polished brass). Mixing finishes in a small space looks accidental.
Plan Vanity Lighting at Face Height
Sconces mounted at 60-65 inches on either side of the mirror light your face evenly. A bar light above the mirror casts downward shadows. Side lighting is always more flattering.
Shower Niche Placement Matters
Build your shower niche at chest height, away from the direct water stream. A niche placed too low requires bending; placed under the showerhead means products get knocked over constantly.
Planning Guide
Before Your Bathroom Remodel
Plumbing Location Sets the Budget
Keeping the toilet, shower, and sink near existing plumbing saves thousands. Moving a toilet even 3 feet requires breaking the floor. We design layouts that work with your current pipe positions first.
Tub vs. Walk-In Shower Tradeoff
Walk-in showers are more accessible and photograph better. But removing the only tub in a home can hurt resale. We help you weigh personal preference against market value for your specific situation.
Ventilation Determines Material Options
Bathrooms without a window or exhaust fan cannot use certain natural stones or wood finishes. We check your ventilation setup before recommending any moisture-sensitive material.
Floor Heating Is a Layout Decision
Electric radiant floor mats must be planned before tile installation. They add $5-8 per square foot and require a dedicated circuit. We include mat placement in the floor plan if you want heated floors.
