About This Design
Warm Japandi
We designed this bedroom around the idea that the view should do the work. A full-height oak slat panel runs the entire back wall, anchoring the black metal bed frame without competing with the soft overcast ocean light through the sliding glass doors.
Design Tip
When using a full-wall slat panel behind the bed, skip a traditional headboard and let the texture carry the wall. Keep the bed frame in matte black so it reads as a line drawing against the warm wood.
