This whole home design started with a single material: reeded walnut. From the entry console to the basement bar, reeded panels and walnut cabinetry thread every room into one story. Green velvet and brass fixtures became the supporting cast, appearing in living room seating, kitchen pendants, and bathroom hardware so each room feels connected without feeling repetitive.
The kitchen pairs a dark island with herringbone backsplash and brass fixtures. The living room centers on a green velvet sectional facing a stone fireplace, flanked by boucle chairs under a globe chandelier. Kids rooms get bold wallpaper and floor beds, while the master uses warm sand walls with a dark accent wall.
Each zone flows into the next through consistent flooring, wainscoting height, and crown molding profiles. The open plan kitchen, dining, and living area anchors the main floor while private rooms branch off a central hallway. Our online design process delivered every room in 3D before a single item was ordered, giving the homeowners full confidence in the cohesive result.
Vertical fluting on walnut cabinetry and consoles adds texture and a retro nod. The same profile repeats in kitchen, office, and bathroom vanities.
Forest green velvet on the main sectional and accent pillows grounds the warm palette. It pairs naturally with brass and walnut tones throughout.
Herringbone backsplash tile in the kitchen and chevron patterns in textiles create directional movement that keeps surfaces visually active.
Brushed brass cabinet pulls, light fixtures, and faucets unify rooms without matching everything. The warm metal reads as intentional, not forced.
Spatial Approach
The green velvet sectional is angled to face both the fireplace and the bay window, creating a conversation pit that does not turn its back on either focal point. The transition from light wood flooring in the living zone to darker flooring in the dining area subtly marks the boundary between spaces without any physical divider.
Best For
Targeted at homeowners drawn to mid-century and retro aesthetics who want a living room with personality and color. This works well for a design-conscious couple or creative professional who entertains casually and values statement furniture over neutral backdrops.
Natural stone gives the living room a permanent, grounded quality that tile or painted drywall cannot match. The irregular texture contrasts with the smooth velvet and polished brass around it.
A dark-finished island breaks the all-white kitchen and creates a visual anchor in the open plan. It defines the cooking zone without adding a wall or changing the ceiling height.
Montessori-style floor beds in the kids rooms encourage independence and make the rooms safer. Bold wallpaper behind each bed creates a headboard effect without added furniture.
Fluted walnut vanities in every bathroom add dimension and warmth that flat-panel doors miss. The vertical lines also make smaller bathrooms feel taller.
